Hi Dead Horse Fans,

The picture of the Sheboyga...

Hi Dead Horse Fans,

The picture of the Sheboygan Dead Horse has raised the collective eyebrows of the genealogical community over the past few months. But we raised them even higher with our analysis that was just published in the Sheboygan Press on Sunday, April 1, 2007. It's no joke, but we were able to determine from the shadows what time of day and day of the year the picture was taken.

Our first analysis showed the picture was taken Sept 24, 1871 at 4:30 pm. This was based on the assumption that since the shadows were pointing due east, the picture had to have been taken at sundown on one of the Equinoxes.

Some of our Quizmasters who are skilled in the astronomical arts, pointed out that the sun can be due west on other days of the year, only just not at sundown. In this case, the picture could have been taken on either May 5 at 4:36 pm or August 7 at 4:45 pm. We'll release more info on the year shortly.

I know you all are anxious to find out where the locomotive is, but you will have to hold your breath with the rest of the world until Jan Hildebrand publishes the end of our article in the Sheboygan Press this Sunday, April 8, 2007.

Until then,

Colleen Fitzpatrick
Chairman
Forensic Genealogy Photo Response Team

Message from the HeadQuizmaster

HI Forensic Photo Detectives,

Welcome to our new Forensic Genealogy blog.
