I've always been fascinated with the amount
of interest that the Titanic generates; the
quiz also brought back memories of helping
my oldest research a project she did on the
Titanic back when she was in fifth grade.
Finding the pictures of the Panula family
and reading about the deaths of their other
children really brought home the tragedy,
too. Mary Fraser

This was my favorite of this segment
because it was about Pittsburgh. I always
like to learn a little more about this
city.

It's fun to learn about the movie mistakes. We'd all like to think that it's 'real' and impromptu, but, this shows that certainly isn't true. Seeing is not believing. Grace Hertz

It was exciting looking at the old records trying to place the time and date with the
location. The follow up data was exciting to read also. Fred Stuart
Because it is an old photograph with lots of clues (some easy to find and others not so
visible!) Grace Hertz
This was my "hands down" favorite
because it was full of interesting clues.
However, "Woe is me", I failed to get the
answer even though I'm a native born
Hoosier. Hats off to the eleven quizmasters
who got it right!
Stan Read
This was just one of many quizes that rely
on clues within the photo to be able to
solve. This one is good because its an older
photo, which I like more than the more
modern/color photos. I dont think I ever
solved this one but I still like it.
John Chulick
A very interesting old photo - lots to learn from the content of the photo and history at
that time! Grace Hertz
I learned a lot about the war in my searching that was outside the usual battle specific
data. Kitty Huddleston
I liked this one best because I found it the most interesting. Since I work in so many
cemeteries, this one just seemed to hit home with me. Debbie Sterbinsky
I'm currently doing Civil War research for an article in my family newsletter. This gives
me extra reference materials as to how this was done at that period in time.
Kelly Fetherlin
Its the old photos that amaze me. Its their detail that fascinate me and their mystery that
will keep me digging for days. They are like good books hard to put down.
David Lepitre
I had a great grandfather who fought at Gettysburg. He had previously fought at
Fredericksburg where he was wounded 5 times. I really enjoyed your very detailed
information about The Sanitary Commission. I had a great grandfather who fought at

Pinky Palladino
each and every puzzle, this event just looks like too much fun!!! Elaine C. Hebert
I never laughed so hard as when I found out
just what this quiz was about. Talk about
howling at the moon, or in this case, many
moons. Mark D. Brzys
Because only here in California would so
many people consider this a fun group
activity, and be allowed to repeat it.
Maureen O'Connor
Just so California! It made me hoot and
laugh. Judy Pfaff
Because even though I learn something from
As my old hometown, I enjoyed seeing
Rushville featured in a quiz. I must have had
a number of visitors to my Rushville history
page that week! This was also when I
found out about the Forensic Genealogy site
(and have been a regular since).
Evan Hindman
This one made me feel like I was really
employing some kinds of "forensic skills" -
narrowing the dates by looking at the dates
of Bryant's campaigns, the style of postcard
and the stamp-- I felt like a distant relative
of Sherlock Holmes! Mary Fraser
Lots of identifying data in the picture but still a fun hunt for the dates. I ended up
wrong on the answer, but learned a few things on the way. Fred Stuart
Because I spent so much time with the photo including finding out about patents on
ferris wheels. Jim Kiser
Because it forced to me research a little
something about my own "backyard"!
Elaine C. Hebert
Because of my interest in cemteries. It was
even better after you told me of your
'connection' to the area. Bill Burrows
Well, I liked it of course because it's a
cemtery, but I had no idea of the layout and
what it had been before. I found this one
very interesting. Debbie Sterbinsky
This one was the one that taught me something about my own backyard. To think I
was born and lived there and didn't know or never even heard about this one. I had to
hear about it from a friend. Anna Farris

lot about the event and the

Because I find it hard to believe people
would go through so much trouble to
build the thing.
Maureen O'Connor
This was just one of many quizes that
rely on clues within the photo to be
able to solve, plus I was able to
recognize it from actually being there
(much more recently than the photo
was taken). John Chulick
I just looked too hard at the details of this one, and didn't see the big picture. When I realized I was missing the main clue by being so detailed, I learned a lot. Debbie Sterbinsky
I was so close, but just couldn't get the answer. It is really a unique church. Judy Pfaff

I enjoyed the correspondence back and forth with Emily and the historian at the KC Fire Museum, and was almost more fascinated by the "fire horses" than the real direction of the quiz... Maureen O'Connor

In the drink. Because it flew out of Kirtland AFB in Abuquerque, my home. Bill Burrows

Because of the Stones. Just a lot of fun. Jim Kiser
|
What a phenomenal photo of a really bizarre place that I would like to visit, but it just might be one of those thrilling drives of a lifetime. I drove through Switzerland once and was thrilled by all the tunnels and mountain passes. Judy Pfaff

Wonderful clues with all the children! Grace Hertz
|
Because I learned more of the personal life of Mozart while researching the quiz. Maureen O'Connor
|
I probably had the most fun on this quiz. Once I started exploring the Flickr site, I thought it would be fun to try to narrow down the date of the photograph, which I came pretty close! Evan Hindman
